Gifts-In-Kind

cleaning floor in food manufacturing plantGifts-in-kind are non-monetary donations, including donated services or tangible real and personal property. Examples of gifts-in-kind that might be made to TAP include, but are not limited to, professional services, labor, equipment, machinery, or supplies. Donated equipment or machinery could assist our staff with providing site assessments or demonstrating alternative technologies or processes. In-kind contributions of professional services or labor might be counted toward matching funds obligations on federal grants.

There are various rules and procedures which must be followed for proper processing of such contributions, including determination of the fair market value of such a gift (unless the donor is the manufacturer of the item and thus sets the market value of their own products).

If you are interested in making a gift-in-kind to support TAP’s work, please contact us at istc-info@illinois.edu to explore ideas.
