Training

IWT staff members are actively involved in various workshops and conferences, including the annual workshop for Illinois Chief Engineers & Facility Managers cosponsored by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the University of Illinois, and other state agencies. The workshop provides information on pending regulations and water treatment developments of relevance for engineering, supervisory and administrative staff.

The program is designed to encourage the professional development of institutional chief engineers, their assistants, and other key employees. The course sessions emphasize the latest methods and technologies used in the efficient operation of state facilities.

Opportunities for individuals to ask questions and discuss mutual problems are important features of each course section. Sharing experiences and expertise stimulates new ideas and allows individuals to develop practical knowledge in all aspects of operations. Past attendees believe that this interchange with their colleagues is one of the most valuable aspects of the program.
